The above shed has proved to be solid enough although, contrary to the original tenancy officer's opinion,* it has been constructed by downsizing a larger second-hand shed! The 'old' window-frame has been used to create storage for my recycling boxes. The person who helped me had no diploma in construction (another comment had been that my proposed student labour would not be acceptable - students have proved to me that they have more brains than the average workmen the council employ so are capable of using logic and implementing sound ideas) but neither do the majority of the spurious contractors the council uses for most of their outsourced shoddy repairs and renovations!! See picture of the door documenting the results of the decorator's efforts!
*The tenancy officer in question who had condescendingly called me the 'plinth lady' because I had been resourceful creating storage under my bookcases etc, actually said "a few shelves won't make a difference" Well the pictures of my bathroom and bedroom already prove that to be wrong; so will my kitchen 'makeover'!!
Another of his 'pearls of wisdom' was I couldn't create outside storage from recycled materials**... and in respect of other intended projects: "that's not going to happen"!! Instead of encouragement :( the exercising of 'power' over a mere tenant whilst showing outright prejudice!!!
** Surely recycling and resourcefulness should be encouraged for the benefit of the planet!!

The UK is full of 'pseudo' engineers who would not sport that title in most other European countries! It seems to me we are a country of 'amateurs'. Here anyone can call themself a 'builder' or 'engineer' etc :(
I was qualified for the work I did!
